PartyBeast Update – Dec 2019

PartyBeast Update – Dec 2019

It’s happened – the stuff I’ve been promising for ages is finally here.

New Commands:
  1. Room Owners – This has been the crux of making a lot of the new functionality work. Whilst you’ll never actually see this it’s worth knowing how it works.
When a temporary room is created it’s added to the database and a room owner assigned to it.
Only a room owner can run commands for their room to stop.
When the room owner leaves the ownership is transferred to the next person in the list.
  2. !pblock/!pbunlock – Yup, that’s right users can now finally lock their rooms to stop people joining them randomly. Unlock, as you can imaging is the ability to unlock the room so new people can join.
This functionality is disabled by default. You can enable it by typing !pbLock enable
You can disable it again by typing !pbLock disable
  3. !pbRename – I genuinely can’t think of a reason why everyone wants this so much but it is the number 1 most requested feature.
Room Owners can now type  !pbRename NEW ROOM NAME to rename their rooms.
Currently there is no bad word filter – this will be addressed in the future.
This functionality is disabled by default. You can enable it by typing !pbRename enable
You can disable it again by typing !pbRename disable
  4. !pbChanDebug – Permissions are the number 1 issue most people face setting up PartyBeast. You can now type !pbChanDebug
